Cantina Colli del Soligo
Cantina Colli del Soligo is a growers' cooperative at Solighetto, in the Prosecco hills between Conegliano and Valdobbiadene. UNESCO added these hills to its World Heritage list in 2019. Thirty-one growers founded the cellar in 1957. Today around 600 members farm more than 1,200 hectares, close to 1,700 football pitches of vines. About 85 per cent of that is Glera. The range covers Conegliano Valdobbiadene Prosecco Superiore DOCG, Asolo Prosecco DOCG and Prosecco DOC Treviso. Still wines and a small line from fungus-resistant vines sit alongside.

About Cantina Colli del Soligo
The cooperative began in 1957, when 31 growers around Solighetto pooled their fruit. Francesco Canella was the first president and Antonio Tomasi the first director. The first bottle, a Prosecco named Villa Maria, followed in 1959. A grape collection point at Arcade came in 1962. In 1969 the Prosecco made in the 15 villages between Conegliano and Valdobbiadene won its DOC.
Sharing one cellar is the point in these hills. The slopes are steep and the plots are small. Few families could pay for a modern winery on their own. Around 600 member growers now deliver about 15,000 tonnes of grapes a year.
Glera makes up about 85 per cent of the intake. The rest is Pinot Grigio, Sauvignon Blanc, Chardonnay, Merlot, Raboso, Pinot Nero and Cabernet Franc. Sales passed 10 million bottles in 2016. A robot-run warehouse arrived in 2013, and the winery runs its own testing laboratory beside the bottling line.
The setting explains the wines. The cellar sits at the foot of the hill bowl, in sight of the Prealps, about 50 km from Venice. The Strada del Prosecco wine road crosses the slopes above it. Rock lies close under the topsoil, and air moving down off the mountains keeps humidity low. Conegliano Valdobbiadene became Italy's 44th DOCG in 2009. UNESCO listed the hills themselves ten years later.
The wines come in lines rather than single estates. Solicum holds the top bottlings, including a Metodo Classico brut and two vintage-dated Conegliano Valdobbiadene Prosecco Superiore DOCG wines. Col de Mez is the wider DOCG line. It takes in Cartizze Extra Dry and two Rive di Soligo millesimati. Valdobbiadene Prosecco Superiore comes in Brut and Extra Dry, alongside two Asolo Prosecco Superiore DOCG wines and a rose. Prosecco DOC Treviso covers the everyday tier, including an organic Brut.
The still wines run from Pinot Grigio and Chardonnay to Levigato Pinot Nero, Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot. A separate Resistenti line bottles Souvignier Gris as Veneto IGT and a sparkling Johanniter brut. Both come from vines bred to resist fungal disease, so the rows need fewer treatments. All the sparkling wines have been vegan certified since 2017, and an organic line runs beside the conventional one. The bottles listed here come mainly from the DOCG and Prosecco DOC Treviso tiers, with the Marca Trevigiana and Veneto IGT still wines behind them.

The cellar is at Via L. Toffolin 6 in Solighetto, part of Pieve di Soligo in the province of Treviso. That is about 50 km north of Venice, inside the Conegliano Valdobbiadene DOCG hills. A wine shop opened at the winery in 2015. The cooperative does not publish a tasting or cellar-tour programme.
