Fattoria Zerbina is Cristina Geminiani's family estate in the Marzeno hills outside Faenza. Since 1987 she has refined Romagna's two great grapes, Albana and Sangiovese. Her Scacco Matto, a noble-rot Albana Passito, helped earn Romagna its first white DOCG. Sangiovese from the Marzeno slopes completes the range.

Ronchi di Castelluccio sits on the wooded Apennine slopes above Modigliana, in the Forli-Cesena hills of Romagna. Nine clearings cut from the forest, the ronchi, each make their own wine. Ronco del Re, a Sauvignon Blanc planted in 1974, is the flagship, and Sangiovese fills the Romagna Sangiovese Modigliana DOC reds. Around 65,000 bottles leave the cellar each vintage.
