Sartarelli

A third-generation family estate in Poggio San Marcello that bottles only Verdicchio. The range runs from the sparkling Brut to the cult Castelli di Jesi Verdicchio Riserva DOCG Balciana, named Best White Wine in the World in 1999.

Marche · Ascoli Piceno

Azienda Vitivinicola Velenosi

Founded in 1984 in Ascoli Piceno by Angela and Ercole Velenosi. Five Marche estates plus an Abruzzo vineyard make around 2.5 million bottles a year, with Equalitas certification. The reference reds Roggio del Filare and Ludi anchor the Piceno range, with a certified organic Pecorino Offida DOCG on the white side.

Azienda Agricola Fratelli Bucci

Bucci is one of the reference producers of Verdicchio dei Castelli di Jesi. In an underground cellar at Ostra Vetere, eighty-year-old Slavonian oak casks age both the Riserva DOCG white and the Pongelli Rosso Piceno red. The vineyards in Montecarotto, Serra de' Conti and Ostra Vetere are certified organic. Around 130,000 bottles a year; visits by arrangement only.

Casa Vinicola Garofoli

The Marche's oldest family winery. Garofoli has bottled Verdicchio dei Castelli di Jesi and Conero reds from its Castelfidardo cellar since 1901. The fifth generation now farms around 50 hectares under SQNPI, Italy's lower-impact growing scheme.

Azienda Agricola Oasi degli Angeli

Two-wine estate at Cupra Marittima known for Kurni, a pure Montepulciano first bottled in 1997 that redrew what the southern Marche could do. Its partner Kupra is a Bordo Grenache from century-old vines, aged in cement eggs and new French oak, with only around 500 bottles a year.

Azienda Agricola Moroder Alessandro

Seventh-generation family estate inside the Conero national park, 1.2 km from the Adriatic. Certified organic since 2010. Best known for Dorico, the Conero Riserva that was the first Marche red to win Tre Bicchieri. Tastings run in a vaulted clay cellar, with a restaurant and B&B on site.
