Estate on the cliffs above Riomaggiore, where Heydi Samuele Bonanini reclaims abandoned terraces of Bosco, Albarola and Vermentino by hand. Tense, salty whites and the rare sweet Sciacchetrà DOP, including a sea-aged Underwater bottling that has become a Ligurian reference.

Four generations of the Bosoni family farm 65 hectares of Ligurian Vermentino, Albarola and Vermentino Nero in the Colli di Luni, between the Apuan Alps and the Gulf of La Spezia. Etichetta Nera and Etichetta Grigia set the modern benchmark for the appellation, with Tre Bicchieri 2026 and a Wine Spectator Top 100 listing. Visits run year-round at Ca' Lunae, an 18th-century farmhouse turned tasting room and Wine Museum.

Vini Bisson

Bisson farms native Ligurian whites and reds across the Riviera di Levante, from a Chiavari enoteca trading since 1978 and a Sestri Levante cellar opened in 2019. Founder Pierluigi Lugano made the first Ligurian metodo classico. He then pioneered ageing spumante in stainless-steel cages at sixty metres on the Portofino seabed, the technique behind the estate's flagship Abissi Riserva Marina.

Tenuta La Ghiaia

A family estate at Sarzana on the gravel of the old Magra river, where Liguria meets Tuscany. Five hectares of organic Colli di Luni vines give three Vermentini and the Undicinodi DOC red. The nineteenth-century manor holds a five-suite Maison de Charme.

Azienda Agricola Durin

Family estate in Ortovero with 18 hectares of terraced vines in the Arroscia Valley. Saline, age-worthy Pigato leads, alongside Rossese, Ormeasco di Pornassio and the Bàsura sparkling wines, which rest on their lees inside the prehistoric Toirano Caves.

Guglierame

A historic Ormeasco di Pornassio specialist in the hills behind Imperia. The Guglierame family began bottling in 1958, from cellars set inside their medieval castle. They were the first in the zone to release Ormeasco under their own label. Vineyards inherited from the Marchese Scarella line terraces above the Arroscia valley, planted to Dolcetto. The brand passed to the PeQ Agri group in 2021 and continues as their Ormeasco line.
