Corte Medicea is the Tuscan estate of La Bollina, a family wine business from Piedmont. Its vineyards sit around Suvereto, a hilltop village near the Livorno coast, a short drive south of Bolgheri. The estate makes a range of Sangiovese and Cabernet reds under the Toscana IGT label. Five reds make up the list, led by Atos, a Merlot-led Super Tuscan, and the Cabernet Eklektos. It is a production estate with no visit programme, so enquiries go through La Bollina in Piedmont.

About Corte Medicea
Corte Medicea is the Tuscan arm of La Bollina, a family wine business from Piedmont. The parent company is better known for its Gavi DOCG and Monferrato wines, made at its base in Serravalle Scrivia. The same family team directs the Tuscan estate from there.
The vineyards sit around Suvereto, a hilltop village in the Alta Maremma, in the province of Livorno. The site is just inland from the sea, a short drive south of Bolgheri.
The Tuscan site works in a different register from the home vineyards. In Piedmont the focus is the lifted aromas of Cortese and Barbera. The Suvereto vines give warm-climate red fruit instead. Sangiovese brings the structure, Merlot brings softness, and Cabernet Sauvignon brings the firm tannins the Tuscan coast does well.
Five reds make up the list, all Toscana IGT. Atos, a Merlot-led Super Tuscan, leads. Eklektos is a Cabernet Sauvignon and Erastos is also built on Cabernet. Aristeo is the Sangiovese, and Cletus blends Sangiovese with Merlot.
The winemaking follows the La Bollina house style. The wines ferment in stainless steel to keep the fruit fresh, and only the top labels see much oak. Prices are kept accessible, pitched at the same UK retail tier as the group's Gavi. Critics place Atos and Eklektos in the band just below the big Bolgheri DOC names, and ahead of everyday Toscana IGT reds.
Visits and tastings are organised from the Piedmont headquarters rather than the Tuscan site. Corte Medicea itself is a production estate with no published visit programme. Trade enquiries go through La Bollina in Serravalle Scrivia.
