What Planeta's L'Amistanza Rosato tastes like
Majestic's datasheet gives the fruit: currants, pomegranate, plum and rosehip on gentle acidity. The grape is Nerello Mascalese, which Planeta calls intensely aromatic where it grows it on Etna. Vivino has too few ratings on this wine to add a score.

Pearly pink in the glass. Currants and pomegranate come first, then plum and rosehip, the deeper notes Majestic's own buyers pick out. Nerello Mascalese keeps its scent even when made pale; Planeta calls it intensely aromatic where it grows the grape on Etna.
Light and dry at 12.5%, with the red fruit carried on gentle acidity rather than anything sharp. There is no oak and no sweetness. The texture is soft and the wine is clean from start to finish.
Clean and fresh, with the rosehip note lasting longest.
Sold in the UK through Majestic and not listed on Planeta's own site. This note is built from the grape, the estate's own account of its farming and the shop's datasheet, because Vivino has too few ratings to score it. Drink it cold and young, with fried fish.
Buying L'Amistanza Rosato: one shop, two prices
Majestic is the only UK shop listing it, at £17.00 a bottle or £13.00 each in any mixed six. The 2025 is the vintage on sale, sealed with a screwcap.
How L'Amistanza Rosato scores for food, value and everyday drinking
Four scores out of ten. It rates highest for someone new to Italian wine, then with food and as an everyday bottle, and well on value at £13 in a mixed six.
Soft, fruity, dry and sealed with a screwcap. There is nothing to learn before you enjoy it.
Fried food, seafood, tomato dishes and mild spice all fit. Only heavy meat and hot chilli do not.
At £13 in a mixed six, light at 12.5%, this is a weeknight bottle by design.
£17 alone is a lot for an entry rosé. £13 in a mixed six, from an organic Planeta vineyard, is fair.
A pleasant summer pink from a good name, but not a bottle that marks an event.
Made to drink within two or three years of the harvest. It does not improve.
Scoring is rule-based and deterministic. The model and weightings are documented in our Wine Fit Score methodology.

Light, dry and 12.5%: what fits this Sicilian rosé
Majestic's own match is fried fish and seafood. A pale, dry rosé with gentle acidity also handles Sicilian swordfish, tomato and mozzarella, and mild spiced prawns. It loses to big red meat and fierce chilli.
Fried food, from arancini to fish and chips
Majestic's own match for this wine is fried fish and seafood. Frying leaves oil on the tongue, and a cold, dry rosé with gentle acidity washes it away without fighting the food.
Try with: Arancini · Pizza Fritta · Gnocco fritto · Fish and Chips · More pairings →
Sicilian swordfish and grilled seafood
Swordfish, mussels and octopus are lean and salty. A light rosé from a red Sicilian grape has just enough fruit to meet them and enough freshness to keep the plate lively.
Try with: Pesce spada alla Siciliana · Impepata di cozze · Polpo alla pignata · Fregula ai frutti di mare · More pairings →
Tomato, basil and mozzarella
Ripe tomato is sweet and sharp at once, which is hard on a white and too much for many reds. A pink wine with currant and pomegranate fruit sits right between the two.
Try with: Insalata Caprese · Pizza Margherita · Pasta alla Norma · Pappa al Pomodoro · More pairings →
Flatbreads and cured antipasti
Salty bread and cured meat make a light wine taste fruitier. This rosé has no tannin to turn bitter against the salt, so it works as the glass you open while the table fills up.
Try with: Crescia · Focaccia Barese · Panzerotti · Peperoni Cruschi · More pairings →
Mild spiced prawns and fish
At 12.5% with no oak, this wine has nothing that chilli can set alight. Mild, creamy spiced seafood matches its light body, and serving it cold takes the edge off the heat.
Try with: Prawn masala · Fish pakora · Tandoori prawns · Chicken Katsu Curry · More pairings →
Skip big red meat and fierce chilli
A slow-cooked or char-grilled red meat dish simply flattens a wine this light. Very hot chilli does the reverse and makes the wine taste thin and sour. Keep it for lighter plates.
Skip with: Brasato al Barolo · Fiorentina steak · Szechuan beef · Chicken madras · Pairing guide →
Keeping L'Amistanza Rosato: drink it young
This is a rosé to drink within two or three years of the harvest, cold. There is nothing to gain from keeping it, and the screwcap is there for convenience, not for the cellar.
Best in the years above; holds without falling over either side.
A short splash decant softens the first-pour edge and opens the aromatics.
Aim for the cooler end on a warm day; warmer end opens up more aromatics.
Made to drink within two or three years of the harvest. It does not improve.
£17.00 is the lowest tracked offer for the current vintage and we have no signal of further discounting.
