Tasting Notes

What Voga Italia Prosecco Rosé 2025 tastes like

Cherry, strawberry and a light floral note, then a crisp, lightly sweet palate at 11%. The pink comes from a tenth of Pinot Nero made as a red wine; the rest is Glera. The fizz comes from a second fermentation in tank, which the rules set at 60 days or more.

Nose

Cherry and small red berries lead, with a light floral note behind them. A tenth of the blend is Pinot Nero made as a red wine. That is what turns the Glera pale pink and puts strawberry and raspberry in the glass. The scent is fruity rather than bready, as you expect from a second fermentation in tank.

Palate

Light-bodied and crisp, with a gentle fizz and a touch of sweetness. Extra Dry means 12 to 17 grams of sugar a litre, and this one holds about 14. At 11% alcohol it is lively and pleasantly dry rather than rich. Pear and a little citrus sit behind the red fruit.

Finish

Clean, with a good length for a light fizz, closing on red berries and a soft, faintly sweet edge. No oak and no bottle age add anything else: Voga is made to be drunk within two years of its 2025 harvest.

Overall

A fashion-led Prosecco in a diamond-cut bottle, made by Enoitalia at Calmasino di Bardolino, which calls itself Italy's second-largest Prosecco producer. It is an easy, light, strawberry-scented fizz for an aperitif rather than a serious sparkler, and that is how it is enjoyed. Open the 2025 now and finish it by 2027.

Wine fit score

How Voga Prosecco Rosé scores for beginners and with food

It scores highest as a beginner's wine and with food: light, fruity, a touch sweet and easy to like, with the bubbles doing the work on fried and salty dishes.

Best intro to this style 8.5/10

Pale pink, fruity, a touch sweet and only 11% alcohol: an easy first pink Prosecco with nothing austere about it.

Best with food 7.8/10

Light, crisp and lightly sweet, with bubbles that cut fat and salt. A natural match for fried starters, seafood and sushi, less so for red meat or hot spice.

Best everyday bottle 6.8/10

Light enough for a weeknight aperitif and low in alcohol, though £17.30 is above the everyday band for Prosecco DOC.

Best for an occasion 5.5/10

A dressy bottle that looks the part at a party or as a gift. But a pink Prosecco DOC is a casual fizz, not a wine for a formal celebration.

Best value 4.8/10

At £17.30 it is dearer than most Prosecco DOC listed here. Part of the price is the diamond-cut bottle; the wine inside is a correct, light Extra Dry rosé.

Best for cellar 1.2/10

Made in tank for freshness, with no oak and no bottle ageing. It is a wine to open within two years of the 2025 harvest.

Scoring is rule-based and deterministic. The model and weightings are documented in our Wine Fit Score methodology.

The 2025 harvest behind this Millesimato

A Prosecco DOC Rosé must name its harvest year, and 2025 is on the label. Early reports from the Veneto pointed to healthy grapes of good to very good quality, with Glera picking due to start in early September. The wine could go on sale from 1 January 2026; drink it in 2026 or 2027.

The disciplinare, the place, the label

What the Prosecco DOC rules say about a rosé

The rosé type joined the Prosecco DOC rules in 2020. It must be a sparkling wine of 85 to 90% Glera with 10 to 15% Pinot Nero made as a red. It ferments a second time in tank for at least 60 days and can be no sweeter than Extra Dry. Voga uses the minimum 10% of Pinot Nero.

01

DOC, DOCG, IGT: what the badges mean

Italian wine law sorts bottles into a pyramid. DOCG sits at the top: tightly drawn boundaries, prescribed grapes, mandatory ageing, government tasting before release. DOC is the same idea with looser thresholds. IGT (Indicazione Geografica Tipica) is broader still, requiring only that 85% of the grapes come from the named territory.

Prosecco is in the DOC tier. That is not a quality verdict, it is a description of how much freedom the producer has at vinification and ageing.

02

Main factor
UK duty and VAT on an 11% sparkling wine
  1. 01

UK duty and VAT on an 11% sparkling wine

    Cost up

Of the £17.30 bottle, about £5.40 is tax: £2.53 of duty on 11% alcohol in 75 cl and £2.88 of VAT. Sparkling wine pays the same duty per litre of alcohol as still wine, at the rate in force since 1 February 2026.

  2. 02

Pinot Nero made as a red wine, with a lower crop limit

    Cost up

The rules cap the Pinot Nero crop at three quarters of the Glera limit. The 10% of red wine is also made separately before blending. So a pink Prosecco takes more work per bottle than a white one.

  3. 03

Second fermentation in tank, at least 60 days, no oak

    Cost down

The bubbles come from a second fermentation in tank, which the rules set at 60 days or more. There are no barrels and no long bottle ageing. It is the cheapest way to make a good sparkling wine and keeps the price well under a bottle-fermented fizz.

  4. 04

Enoitalia's scale, by its own account Italy's second-largest Prosecco producer

    Cost down

Enoitalia sold over 170 million bottles in 2021 and calls itself the second-largest Prosecco producer in Italy. Its winemakers select wine from across Italy's wine areas. Buying at that scale keeps the cost of the liquid low.

  5. 05

The diamond-cut bottle and the Voga brand

    Cost up

Voga's diamond-cut bottle is the brand's signature. A custom glass shape and fashion-led marketing are part of the price, which sits above most Prosecco DOC on the site.

01

UK duty and VAT on an 11% sparkling wine

Of the £17.30 bottle, about £5.40 is tax: £2.53 of duty on 11% alcohol in 75 cl and £2.88 of VAT. Sparkling wine pays the same duty per litre of alcohol as still wine, at the rate in force since 1 February 2026.

Perfect Pairings

Dishes that go with this wine

Food Pairing

Dishes for Voga Prosecco Rosé: fried starters, seafood, sushi

Light body, gentle bubbles and about 14 grams of sugar a litre: Voga Prosecco Rosé wants salty, fried or delicate food. The fizz and acidity cut through batter and fat. The touch of sweetness balances salt, and the red-berry fruit sits well with raw fish and cured meat.

Fat cutting Strong match

Fried starters: arancini, gnocco fritto, panzerotti

Bubbles and acidity scrub the fat from fried food, so each bite tastes fresh again. A light pink Prosecco DOC like Voga has the fizz without the weight. Its touch of sweetness softens the salt on the crust.

Try with: Arancini · Gnocco fritto · Panzerotti · Pizza Fritta · More pairings →

Body matching Strong match

Venetian seafood: shrimp on polenta, creamed salt cod, mussels

A light-bodied wine suits delicate food. This pink Prosecco is 11% alcohol with no oak, so it does not flatten shrimp or cod. The gentle fizz lifts creamy salt cod, and the red-berry fruit adds a little colour to white fish.

Try with: Polenta e schie · Baccala Mantecato · Impepata di cozze · Fregula ai frutti di mare · More pairings →

Sweet balance Good match

Sushi, sashimi and tempura

About 14 grams of sugar a litre is just enough to balance soy and salt. That is why an Extra Dry Prosecco works where a bone-dry fizz can taste sharp. The strawberry note from the Pinot Nero sits happily beside raw salmon and tuna.

Try with: Nigiri Sushi · Sashimi · Prawn Tempura · Tempura · More pairings →

Acidity matching Good match

Tomato, mozzarella and simple bread dishes

Fresh acidity meets fresh acidity. A crisp Glera-based fizz keeps pace with ripe tomato and does not get lost, while the bubbles cut the richness of mozzarella. A pizza Margherita or a Caprese salad needs nothing heavier than this Prosecco rosé.

Try with: Insalata Caprese · Pizza Margherita · Pappa al Pomodoro · Focaccia · More pairings →

Salt balance Good match

Cured meat, hard cheese and the aperitif table

Salt makes a wine taste softer and fruitier, and a lightly sweet pink Prosecco returns the favour by washing the salt away. Cured ham, salami and a hard cheese are the natural aperitif plate for this style of fizz.

Try with: Cheese board · Stilton · Melton Mowbray Pork Pie · Pecorino sardo e pan carasau

Avoid Clash

Hot curries and chilli-heavy dishes

Bubbles sharpen chilli burn, and the delicate red fruit of a Prosecco rosé vanishes under heat. Save this bottle for salt and fat. For a hot dish pick a cold, low-alcohol Moscato d'Asti, whose real sweetness cools the chilli.

Skip with: Chicken madras · Chicken jalfrezi · Szechuan chicken · Crispy chilli beef · Green curry · Pairing guide →

Drinking + cellar

Voga Prosecco Rosé is for drinking, not keeping

There is nothing to cellar here. Enoitalia makes this wine in tank for freshness, with no oak, so the fruit fades rather than develops. Buy the 2025 for 2026 and 2027. Keep it cool and out of the light, and finish each bottle within a day or two of opening.

Common Questions

Glera with 10% Pinot Nero, which is made as a red wine and gives the pink colour. The Prosecco DOC rules allow 85 to 90% Glera and 10 to 15% Pinot Nero in the rosé type. Voga uses the minimum share of red grape.

It is off-dry. Extra Dry means 12 to 17 grams of sugar a litre, and this bottle holds about 14. So it tastes lightly sweet next to a Brut. The acidity and the bubbles keep it fresh rather than sugary. If you want a drier glass, Voga also makes a white Brut.

Enoitalia, a wine company at Calmasino di Bardolino near Lake Garda, in the province of Verona. Voga Italia is one of its brands, not an estate. The company started in 1986 under the Pizzolo family and is now part of the Italian Wine Brands group. It calls itself Italy's second-largest Prosecco producer.

Vino.com is the only UK shop we list for it, at £17.30 a bottle including VAT and duty. So there is no price to compare between shops. The listing is the 2025 Millesimato in the 75 cl diamond-cut bottle.

Because the rules make it compulsory. Every Prosecco DOC Rosé must carry the word Millesimato and its harvest year, with at least 85% of the wine from that year. The 2025 could go on sale from 1 January 2026. It is made to drink young, so 2026 and 2027 are its years.

Cold, at about 6 °C, straight from the fridge, in a white wine glass or a flute. The producer suggests it as an aperitif, or through a meal with starters, pasta or risotto and white meat. The brand also offers it as a cocktail base.
