About Tenuta di Ville d Arfanta

The dimora at Localita Pare dates back generations, but its life as a wine-tourism estate started in 1999 when the Serena brothers, Giorgio and Gerardo, fell for the rough beauty of the Arfanta slopes north of Tarzo. They bought the property, restored the country house, and folded the six surrounding hectares of Glera into the Serena Wines 1881 family business their grandparents founded over a century earlier.\n\nThe vineyards face north-east across the upper Conegliano-Valdobbiadene zone, the Prosecco heartland that earned UNESCO World Heritage status in 2019. The cooler exposure suits Glera, lengthening the ripening window and feeding into the lifted aromatic profile the producer is known for. Wines bottled under the Ville d'Arfanta label cover Valdobbiadene Prosecco Superiore DOCG, Prosecco DOC Treviso, and a Pinot Grigio delle Venezie.\n\nThe estate is run as a hospitality dimora more than a production cellar. Visitors come for guided walks among the vines, sit-down tastings paired with local food platters, and stays in the converted farmhouse rooms. The wider Serena Wines 1881 cellar handles vinification and aging; Ville d'Arfanta delivers the territorial frame.\n\nPractical context for a visit: the estate is about an hour by car from Treviso and a similar distance from Conegliano, both reachable from Venice in under two hours. Tarzo itself is a quiet hill town surrounded by the densest concentration of Prosecco Superiore DOCG vineyards in Italy. The Conegliano-Valdobbiadene UNESCO listing in 2019 raised the area's wine-tourism profile, and the dimora sits inside that protected hillside zone.
